• The “Lucky Bear Cabin” is situated along the Brumley Mountain Trail and bordering the Channels State Forest, This picturesque 4 acre meadow is home to a newly remodeled off grid, solar-powered 1 bedroom cabin featuring a queen bed with additional loft featuring 1 full size beds and one full bath.

  • The “Ole Timer” cabin is a original piece of Appalachian history that dates back to the 1890s. This cabin outdates the fire tower and is only surpassed in age by the channels themselves. Don’t let it’s historic age fool you, this cabin has been renovated in 2021 with all the modern amenities.

Retreat to the serenity of this newly renovated, sustainable getaway and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Channels Retreat rests on a scenic hiking trail on Brumley Mountain (also referred to as Clinch Mountain) - making it perfect for hikers or a relaxing getaway.

All of our cabins are completely off grid and utilize green solar energy as well as natural mountain water via our UV treated triple filtered well.

You will fall in love with our cabins, their charm and open floor plan. The cabins are comfortable, homey and private.

We take pride in furnishing our cabins with fresh towels and linens for every guest. Providing all of the modern comforts while still allowing you to experience the mountain air is our calling card.

They do not pretend to be a five-star hotel but are a calming paradise for those who love nature.

Brumley mountain is home to  is Rhododendrons and mountain laurel that are the highlights of the undergrowth, while a variety of deciduous trees form a towering canopy above. It is truly a birdwatcher and botanist paradise. 

Location is right on the trail and is the last privately owned parcel upon entering channels state forest.
